I would like to welcome you to my website and thank you for taking the time to browse through my galleries! I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

My interest in photography began I was a young child while helping my dad in our home bathroom-turned-makeshift-darkroom. His love of photography must of rubbed off on me, because I have been fascinated with it ever since.

After school, I began working in a portrait studio, where I spent my days photographing babies and families. I left that job in 1999 to start my own family, and I've spent the last 7 years with my son and indulging in various art projects. Although I never completely stopped taking pictures, it was put on the backburner until I got my first digital camera in 2003. In 2006 I decided to once again join the world of professional photography and Rebecca Picard Photography was born.

I love all types of photography from gritty, black and white street photography to delicate macros. My favorite images are ones that show the human spirit and colors from around the globe. In my own work, I like to incorporate the use of bold colors, high contrast and strong lines to provoke emotion. I want people to feel like they've been to the places I've been and know the people I know.
